My husband has teased and mocked me relentlessly for buying the girl the Vulli Sophie the Giraffe Teether. He calls it her dog toy, and to be fair it does resemble a squeaky dog chewy….but as I always argue it’s designed perfectly for fussy little mouths to chew on while teething.

There are over 1600 GLOWING reviews for this product on Amazon and the girl LOVES it! When she isn’t chewing on it she is stumbling around the house squeezing and scaring the dogs with it’s high pitched squeak. Which is just another bonus to awesome product.

So why does the hubs tease me about it? Because I paid $25 for it. He swears he could go to to PetSmart and find a similar dog toy for half that price. I have defended and argued my case for this toy to our entire family and most of our friends who think I’m nuts for buying such an expensive teether. And while I will admit that I did buy this at 3am one night, 8 months pregnant and living on about 2 hours of sleep a night..I have never regretted it.

The girl loves it…it has been used more than any other baby toy she has and has paid for itself ten times over. Simple economics people.

And I am not the only mom who may have paid too much to keep her baby girl happy…I just ran across this picture of Pink and Carey Hart taking baby Willow out to lunch yesterday and guess what toy Pink is taking with them to the restaurant????? SOPHIE the FREAKING GIRAFFE. And any mother knows you only take the toys that you know will keep your kid happy to a public place. That’s just good parenting.
